Woman, Thou Art Loosed

Jesus Laying Hands on People to Heal.

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

The Bible says, "Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with diverse diseases brought them unto Him; and He laid hands on every one of them and healed them" (Luke 4:40).

In today's Daily devotional, we will be discussing the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and His power to heal. In our most recent Daily devotionals, we have highlighted some of the diverse ways that Jesus heals, as demonstrated throughout scripture. Our focal point today will be a continuation of Jesus specifically laying hands on people to heal them. During His earthly ministry, the Lord healed Simon Peter's mother-in-law by rebuking a fever in her. After this occurrence, the Bible says, "Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with diverse diseases brought them unto Him; and He laid hands on every one of them and healed them" (Luke 4:40).

Yes, Jesus Christ healed everyone whom He laid hands on, and He delivered people from various types of sicknesses and diseases. Remember the woman whom Jesus said, "Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity" (Luke 13:12). Jesus had been teaching in a synagogue on the Sabbath, and the Bible says, "And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years and was bowed together and could in no wise lift up herself" (Luke 13:11).

This woman couldn't straighten up at all because she had been bound with this sickness for eighteen years. Many people's lives have not been straight for a long time because of the sickness of sin. If that is you, there's hope in Jesus Christ. When you put your trust in Him and allow Him to touch you, you will be made whole, just like this woman in the Bible. "And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said unto her, 'Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.' And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight and glorified God" (Luke 13:12-13). What are your thoughts?
