Why We Should Never Look down on Anyone?

Please take a moment to honor people who do important work that sometimes goes unnoticed, what are some examples?

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of October, the Powerzone Ministries daily devotionals will focus on the topic of #honor. What does it mean and how can you show honor to the people in your life? Stay connected to learn more.

“ Let nothing be done through strife and vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Philippians 2:3.

Honor: October 10, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

Everyone in the world that we presently reside in deserves to be honored. People who do manual work such as janitors, stock clerks, waiters, waitresses, and sanitation workers certainly should be honored. So many blue-collar employee jobs and the work that they perform are taken for granted. People who cut lawns and perform landscaping generally speaking take pride in their craft and are to be honored, “ Let nothing be done through strife and vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.” Philippians 2:3.

We should never look down on anyone. Some people who are well-educated may be tempted to talk down to people that may not hold positions such as people in political office, engineers, doctors, and attorneys! Construction workers build the places we live in and perhaps work in. The food we eat and supplies and other products we need to live with and may enjoy in our daily activities come from a warehouse where blue-collar workers provide for us. “it’s honorable work and we should show them how much that we appreciate their service. If a waiter renders good service and is constantly checking to see if everything is well we should give them a nice tip. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” Colossians 3:23.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with greeting those stocking items in the stores or acknowledging landscapers even by a simple wave as you are passing them by. We should never throw garbage on the ground or the street while riding in our vehicles. I have actually heard people say “That gives them something to do!” You honor sanitation workers and anyone when you make their job easier. This is wrong! It’s good to recognize their contributions to society making life that much better for everyone. “But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons!” Colossians 3:25. What are your thoughts?
