Yesterday, we were discussing the fear of accepting your calling. Well, one of the concerns, even after receiving and accepting your calling, is people receiving from you. A lot of preachers, including myself, had a concern regarding being qualified to carry the Word of God. We must always keep in mind that we are simply conduits that the water of God’s Word uses as a path for people to hear and receive what "thus saith the Lord." When you truly have received the Call, our God will never let you fall! Whom He calls, He qualifies. The only opinion that matters when a person is called to the ministry is God’s, and we humbly yield to His will to equip and use us.

The other concern, which is our focus for today, is, as aforementioned, the Word that you are given by God being rejected. The key words are "By God," and as long as He has orchestrated the appointment and the Word that we preach, the Bible says, "So shall my Word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11).

God is saying that His Word will have the effect that He designed it to have and will accomplish everything He intended it to do. The Word convicts, encourages, empowers, and sadly condemns those who refuse to accept it. There will be times when men and women who are called to preach will be required to speak words from the Word that may not be pleasant for some people to hear. How can this be? After all, God is Love, right? Jesus says, "It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you, they are Spirit, and they are life" (John 6:63). What are your thoughts?
