For the entire month of February, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on the topic of #HOPE. The Bible says "hope deferred maketh the heart sick." What does that mean? The world oftentimes speaks of hope as wishful thinking, is this the same hope the bible teaches? Stay connected to learn more.

" When your father and mother forsake you, then the Lord will take you up!" Psalms 27:10

Hope February 6, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

When you're in trouble, who do you call on? You've called on family, and they've failed you at some point. You've called on friends, and they've let you down. You've had no choice, but to rely on familiar associates, and things still didn't work out. People are limited in what they're able to do to help us. The Bible says “ Give us help from trouble: For vain is the help of man.” Psalms 60:11. Even our parents at some point in life will forsake us. Why? The Word of God says " When your father and mother forsake you, then the Lord will take you up! Psalms 27:10. They may pass from this life and sometimes totally unexpectedly, but more than likely it will happen before your time to leave this world in the natural. They forsake you and most of the time they have no say in it.

There’s a difference between leaving and forsaking someone. The definition of leaving is to go away. To forsake is to renounce or give up something of value. When someone you love leaves this world they no longer can support in the natural what once was of value to them. You can share a home with someone, and can still be forsaken by them. If a person isn't supportive of you; even though they're living with you, they've forsaken you. If they're not giving you the encouragement you need when the opportunity presents itself, they've forsaken you. If you're in need and your loved ones are in a position to help you, and they refuse, they've forsaken you! When your hope is in Christ, you can see victory, and it comes to pass. ”And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee.” Psalms 39:7 What are your thoughts?
