What is The “Sincere Milk of the Word”?

Spiritually we all were living in darkness

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

"If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” I Peter 2:3

Have you ever wondered why a newborn baby desires milk initially once they enter this world? All of us resided in the placenta inside of our mother's wombs before entering this new life. It was a new life with light, and we had to adjust to it; because we were accustomed to living in constant darkness that surrounded us. Once we exit our mother’s womb the placenta that we lived in which supplied the nutrients we needed to grow comes off. In this second life, we need milk to supply the nutrients to live in this new light! I believe most people have wondered why a newborn craves milk from their mother initially like nothing else that this world has to offer. The newborn desire the food that only the mother who carried them even through the dark time in their old life, and gave them life, is the source for what they need most!

In the same way, spiritually we all were living in darkness, and the placenta that supplied what we needed in that old life comes off. We now depend on the only one who carried us and supplied all that we needed during those times and especially now that we are living in the light of this World. The Apostle Peter says “Wherefore laying aside all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby” I Peter 2:1:2.

The placenta symbolizes guile which means speaking deceiving words and hypocrisies which no Believer should ever display before the world. The “sincere milk of the Word” is called sincere because there are no additives or preservatives in the Word of God. It has every ingredient in it that is available for whatever you need in this world to be strong in your faith and prosper. The more spiritual milk we drink, the more dangerous we become to be victorious in this life! Amen! "If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.” I Peter 2:3. What are your thoughts?
