What is the Greatest Reward That a Believer Can Receive?

Dedicated to my Mother, Daddy and loved ones who have crossed over to be with the Lord.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of November, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on the topic of #Blessed. What does it mean to be blessed and how do you obtain favor in your daily walk with Jesus? Stay connected to learn more.

"Blessed are the dead which die in the lord, from henceforth: Yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Revelation 14:13

Blessed November 10, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

This is dedicated to my Mother, daddy, and all my dear loved ones including friends and people that I was privileged to have known and loved before they crossed over to be with the Lord. The Bible says “we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8. What is the greatest reward that a person can receive? Is it a humanitarian reward? Is it a Grammy or Oscar? Is it an MVP or NBA Final Championship? How about a World Series or Super Bowl ring?

Believe it or not, the greatest reward is not in this life! “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.” James 1:12. At Home Going Service occasionally you will hear the Preacher quote "Precious in the sight of the Lord are the death of his saints." Psalms 116:15. We are empowered to prosper for life when we die in Jesus. We are eternally blessed because we will never be separated from God again. Death is separation. Physical death is the separation of body, soul, and spirit. Spiritual death is separation from the empowerment of strength, and the supernatural ability that only the Holy Spirit can give us. Eternal death is a permanent separation from God, and people who die in sin are lost forever. ”Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” Mark 9:44, 48.

Notice that Jesus says it in two passages in the same chapter. It’s comforting to hear someone say that you can pray for a person after they pass, but the truth be told that is not Biblical. I believe that God smiles down on those of us who have passed from labor to reward! Blessed are the dead which die in the lord, from henceforth: Yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” Revelation 14:13. What are your thoughts?
