What is The First Thing You Do When You Wake Up?

The worst thing you can do is start your day off by complaining about what could happen during the day.

"Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice." Philippians 4:4

Joy January 29, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Some people wake up thinking about the job or whatever is on schedule to get done and begin grumbling about it. Some people get up rearing and ready to have a conversation and if you're not in the mood; oh well! Others are grateful that the alarm woke them up! After all, they might have been late for work or an appointment if it didn't ring right? Then some people love that quiet time. The Lord has blessed them to see another day on this side, and they immediately acknowledge that. The first thing you and I should do when we wake up is to give God praise for doing it. You see it wasn't the alarm clock that woke you up because you didn't have to hear it. It was the Lord that allowed you to hear that alarm go off. It was the Lord that allowed you to lie down, and have a roof over your head. He's the one who supplies all of our needs! Not the job!

The Bible says” Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. In other words, everything that we are blessed to receive comes from the Lord, and He doesn’t look for anything in return from us or take it back. People may do that or desire to but God never does. We should rejoice in the Lord for allowing us to see another day each day that we are in this world. "This is the day that the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24.

The worst thing you can do is start your day off by complaining about what could happen during the day. When we rejoice we are not only giving God what He so much deserves, but we are letting the enemy know that we love God! We should love the Lord more than our spouses, children, and our parents. He is the one that gave everyone we love to us. There's no better way to start your week off than in His House; the Church. That's where we truly will rejoice! Hallelujah, and praise the Lord! He's worthy! "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice." Philippians 4:4. What are your thoughts?
