Today officially marks the first day of Winter. In New York where I'm from, it's the time of year to be in your home as the snowflakes fall gently to the ground outside. The old classic" Chestnuts roasting on an open fire." It's the perfect scenery to spend quality time with someone you care about. What is quality time? It's more than the final love language to discuss. I certainly will tell you what it's not. It's not texting while speaking to that special someone. It's not having the television on or checking your email as you're engaged in a conversation with someone. It's certainly not answering the door or phone if either bell rings! No, it's not multitasking at all while speaking!
Quality time is giving another person your undivided attention! You're not only giving them your attention; you're giving them your eyes and more importantly your ears. Always remind yourself that this is why God gave us two ears and one mouth. I truly believe that it's for us to listen twice as much as we talk. Quality time makes you the listener and yet speaks volumes in demonstrating how much you value friendship. Nothing or no one else matters at this juncture. Yes, that time is spent totally with that special person. You're speaking their primary love language. "He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit." Proverbs 17:27. What are your thoughts?
