The relationships that we develop in life grow because, at some point, someone shows compassion to the other person. A need is met, or some kind of support was given at a time it was very much needed. Oftentimes when the opportunity presents itself, we want to do something in return to show that person how much their support was appreciated during that difficult time. This is the beginning of what is called phileo love.
Showing affection toward a person is phileo love or the love for a friend. This type of love can last for a season, reason, or lifetime. What usually holds a friendship together is the comradery of spirit. The bond that has developed over the years is because you've been friends for a long period. You've been there for that friend, and they've been there for you as well.
Sometimes things happen and people that were friends for years separate. You may not understand why, but unfortunately, life happens. Every relationship is not for a lifetime. Aren't you glad that there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother? But a true friend loveth at all times. What are your thoughts? Proverbs 17:17. What are your thoughts?
