Jesus, Himself said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33

Holy Spirit, March 27, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

What is faith? The average Christian would say that it's the "substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1. That is how it is defined in the Bible. We also are instructed by the Word of God to live by faith. When we read the Greek Word for walk in the Bible it means lifestyle or to demonstrate before the world. The Bible says "We walk by faith and not by sight!" II Corinthians 5:7. But the Greek translation used for faith here in Galatians speaking about the fruit is not the same Greek word used in II Corinthians 5:7.

What the Apostle Paul is describing when he listed the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians is different. In Galatians 5:22. Faith here is the seed of being faithful. Statistics say that approximately 20% of the members of a Church are going to be faithful to the Ministry. This holds true in Mega, medium, or small Churches as well. Size truly doesn't matter in this case! Faith is about committing to God first. Jesus, Himself said, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33.

It is vital for a novice Christian who is defined as a baby Christian believer to get connected to a local body of Believers. This is a family or also known as a community of Believers who learn work and grow stronger in their walk with the Lord together. A sincere person should pray and ask the Holy Spirit to direct them to a Ministry where they will grow spiritually. God always gives us confirmation. Once you receive confirmation that this is the place He has handpicked for you to attend; you are supportive of that work. A Pastor is so appreciative of people that he can depend on them to be in place. Faithful, accountable, and teachable members are the ones best equipped to be used by God if they’re in the right Ministry, praise God! And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9. What are your thoughts?
