What Happens After a Person Dies?

The afterlife is everlasting!

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of February, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on the topic of #HOPE. The Bible says "hope deferred maketh the heart sick." What does that mean? The world oftentimes speaks of hope as wishful thinking, is this the same hope the bible teaches? Stay connected to learn more.

"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Hope February 28, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

A subject that many people including some Christians are confused about is: what happens after a person dies? Death is separation. Man is a tri-part being. We are made up of body, soul, and spirit. When a person passes the Bible says “ then the dust shall return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return to God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7. But what happens to the soul? All souls belong to God and so all of us will be judged. The saints go before the Judgement seat of Christ, and the sinners will go before the Great white throne judgment.

The saints will be given a glorified body at the Rapture. This is when Jesus comes back for us. We will be able to eat with this body, and never be sick or tired, praise God! The Apostle Paul says” And the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, and with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Those of us that have loved ones that died in Jesus truly have so much to look forward to seeing. We will never be separated again! We will have bodies that will enjoy food more delicious than this world has ever known. There will be no sugar diabetes, acid reflux, or high blood pressure. Yes, we will be able to enjoy every dish that we are served! Yes, as Christians we have that blessed hope, but we also can enjoy the trip on the way there, while we're here on earth! If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." 1 Corinthians 15:19. The afterlife is everlasting! Hallelujah! What are your thoughts?
