No one in their right mind leaves their house half-dressed. You have a shirt on but you don't have on any pants. You have socks on, but you don't have shoes. You're just about fully dressed, but you're not wearing a belt. Some of our young people may not realize it, but when you choose not to wear a belt, you're operating with a slave mentality. The Bible says “ And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and perfect, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2.
You're not imprisoned: because you're free! The belt is what holds your attire together. It's the enemy's job to try to shoot us down with lies. He looks for areas where we appear to be weak and when he sees an opening; he'll try to hit you with his best shot! If you don't stand for something; you'll fall for anything. Remember when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were threatened by King Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King that if they didn’t fall down and worship the image they would be thrown into the burning fiery furnace?
They took a stand as recorded by Daniel “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” Dan 3:17-18. When the enemies of life took shots at Superman; the bullets couldn't penetrate. The reason was that he had spent time with God, and came out from his secret closet fully dressed and ready for battle. As a child of the living God; we are supermen and superwomen in Christ. The insults that the enemy and his minions fire at us will roll off like water off of duck's back, praise God! “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day” Ephesians 6:13.
