"Whosoever stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, when he crieth he shall not be heard." Proverbs 21:13

Blessed November 17, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

"Did you know that when you lend to the less fortunate you are lending to the Lord." Yes, we recently spoke about being an encouragement to the less fortunate, but the Lord has brought us back to it. It's so important to realize that you and I are vessels; instruments if you will that are called upon to bless someone else. “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will pay him again. Proverbs 19:17. Can you imagine the Lord paying you back for blessing someone in need according to His riches in glory?

Remember the Good Samaritan in the Bible. When the Priest (Pastor) and the Levite (Church Official) passed a person who had been beaten and near death, and refused to help him? It was a person with no Title and not holding an office in the Church that stopped to help the person in need. The Good Samaritan knew that this person was in no position to repay him, and yet he helped him and took him to an Inn to get the medical attention that he needed. He offered to pay the medical bills and was willing to return there and pay more if the person was still in debt because of this unfortunate ordeal that he had experienced. Most people I venture to say will help someone who can do something for them in the future. But what about helping people who have no means of repaying you? What about making a sacrifice for someone who you know is not in a position to give you anything in return?

"Whosoever stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, when he crieth he shall not be heard." Proverbs 21:13. The flip side of this is the blessing you receive when you give to those who are truly in need. Everybody isn't a con artist looking for a handout. The joy it brings when you give to someone in need can not be measured. You're giving a person life and it confirms your purpose and empowers you by making room to receive more from the Lord. You can't out-give God! "It's more blessed to give than it is to receive.” Acts 20:35. What are your thoughts?
