We Are Not Like Those Without Hope

Jesus Speak Life into Any Situation

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

Jesus said, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John 11:25-26

Yesterday we spoke about a very uncomfortable subject and that is regarding the initial liturgical part of a Home Going/ funeral Service that is a part of the format in the African American community. The Word of God spoken at the beginning of their loved ones' Home Going Service is vital because it is literally giving life to those who are left behind mourning and grieving. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself says “It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are life.” John 6:63.

These Words of Jesus speak life into any situation that we may face in this life, and the most difficult I believe is when we are separated from people who are so dear to us. Death is defined as separation. In the case of physical death the body, soul, and spirit separate. Because we all were born with an Adamic nature to not only sin; but we also have a selfish nature to want to hold on to people we love after their passing. This is human nature and the Word will give us the comfort that only The Word is able to do during these difficult times! This is what gives hope to those yet living here. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John 11:25-26.

The reason some people have such difficulty coping for a long time is that they do not have the hope that we as Believers are supposed to have. The Words spoken by the Member of the Clergy at the outset of the Service; when adhered to, will bring supernatural strength that we do not have independent of the Lord. “But I would not to have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.” I Thessalonians 4:13. What are your thoughts?
