On today's Daily devotional, we will discuss the topic of waking up to failure. Many individuals, as they reach a certain age, start to believe that they are failures. They reflect on their lives and think about the things they had hoped to achieve but have not yet accomplished. It is natural for people to desire to be remembered for something, but unfortunately, some individuals leave behind a negative legacy. Examples of such legacies include figures like Osama Bin Laden, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussein, and others. When these names are mentioned, what thoughts come to mind?

Indeed, there are other names that come to mind, such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Dr. Billy Graham, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, President John F. Kennedy, and Mother Teresa, among others. Unlike the first group, these individuals made significant contributions to the world, striving to make it a better place. As the wise writer King Solomon stated in Proverbs 22:1,“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favour rather than silver and gold.”

There are indeed countless other names, including yours, that were not mentioned today. Your life is still ongoing, and there is much potential for you to make a difference. It is important to be aware that the devil may send his minions to attack your mind and try to convince you that you are worthless. They can be convincing in their attempts to undermine your self-worth. They may question what you have accomplished in an unheralded position or make you feel underappreciated despite your diligent work.

It is true that our accomplishments in this world that do not glorify the Lord Jesus Christ will ultimately be burned up and hold no eternal value, regardless of whether or not they are recognized by others. What truly matters is that the Lord is aware of our contributions to society. As the saying goes, "Only what you do for Christ will last." The Apostle Paul affirms this in 1 Corinthians 3:13, stating that “every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.” What are your thoughts?
