In today's Daily Devotional, we will continue to discuss the wake-up call to all of us that everyone in the world is different. Have you ever found yourself comparing yourself to others? Have you ever wished to be someone else or desired a quality that someone else possesses? It's possible that these thoughts have crossed your mind at some point in life. While it's natural to admire others and be inspired by their attributes, it is crucial to be content with who God has created you to be. As the Apostle Paul states in Romans 11:36, “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.”
In layman’s terms, you were created uniquely by God, and everything you go through in life is used by the Lord to bring Him glory. I recall a specific day in my fifth-grade class when our teacher asked us to write down our thoughts about ourselves. She assured us that the papers would be anonymous and that we didn't have to include our names. Each student's paper, containing their personal opinions about themselves, was collected by the teacher. Little did I know that what I was about to hear would have a significant impact on my life.
Our teacher began reading the responses from different students, and some expressed their self-dislike. "I'm ugly and I hate myself. I'm dark and I'm ugly. I hate myself." There were other derogatory opinions shared by my classmates, and it had a profound impact on me because I had no idea that anyone felt that way about themselves.
This is something that needs to be addressed! You are who God created you to be, and He has a special purpose for your life. You are not a mistake, and it is incredible what God can do in the lives of those who may be rejected or stigmatized by the world. Your amazing journey with Jesus as your guide can begin today! As the Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 1:27, “but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” What are your thoughts?
