October 12, 2023 By Dr. George Bing Today's Daily Devotional is special as it coincides with my birthday. The topic is having the right attitude towards life. Does anyone achieve quite everything in life that they desire? I venture to say that no one does. While we may not achieve all our desires, I can guarantee you that those who come close often have a personal relationship with the Lord. Looking back, many of us, myself included, wish we had discovered this relationship earlier. We live in a microwave society today that wants everything right now.

Modern technology has made us impatient and entitled, leading to widespread anxiety. Many people make decisions based on emotions, neglecting to consult God, who has all the answers and power to help us. The Apostle Paul advises us in Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."

The word "careful" in Greek is defined as "anxious", and the Apostle Paul advises us not to make decisions without first consulting the Lord. It is crucial to approach a Holy God with the proper attitude when presenting our requests to Him. Throughout my life, God has blessed me and allowed me to achieve things that seemed impossible years ago. The Bible reminds us in Ecclesiastes 7:8 "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." What are your thoughts?
