The Apostle Paul says “and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23).

On today’s Daily devotional, we will continue to discuss the subject of waking up to the fact that everyone in the world is different. When I was a child I personally believed that everyone thought like I did. I thought that everyone had the same dreams that I had. Everyone wanted to be an entertainer and wanted to contribute something special to the world.  The last statement should be true though, but we all need to make sure that God is getting the glory in all that we do. The Apostle Paul says “and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Colossians 3:23).

It’s all about working for the Lord and it should always be about uplifting Jesus Christ. We are supposed to do whatever we can to make Him famous. With that being said we might as well get used to each other’s likes and differences. The food that people of different cultures enjoy and the sports in other countries that people gravitate to are different. The way people of different cultures dress is different and it’s not for us to judge or dislike someone because of their divergent upbringing.

Suppose everyone in the world was exactly like you. What a boring world this truly would be. Please do not take offense because this certainly applies to me as well. I found it hard to believe but there are some people even today that don’t believe that the Godfather James Brown could sing. I’ve actually heard people say that he just talked or hollered to fill a lyric. To me, this may appear to be irrational thinking, but people are entitled to their opinion.

Some people like steak and others are vegetarians and a steak doesn’t appeal to them. Those of us who like sports and even people who may not necessarily be football fans may find it odd for someone to not want to watch the Super Bowl. Yes, we need to wake up to the realization that we are different, and I do know that whatever you have a passion for and enjoy; God knows you and He understands why. “Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off” (Psalm 139:2). What are your thoughts?
