On today’s Daily devotional, we will be discussing the wake-up call to prioritizing your service. Today at Abundant Life Ministries Intl Church we are officially celebrating sixteen years of service as a ministry designated to help people to not only receive Jesus as lord, but to develop a relationship with Him and to activate their gifts. The two most important days in your life should be the day that you were born, and the purpose for why you were born. I’ve shared this belief many times and I will here again.

Everyone in this world serves a trinity, whether we are believers or non-believers. If you are a believer, you serve the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If you are a non-believer, you serve "Me, Myself, and I." The opposite of love is not hate; the opposite of love is selfishness. Jesus says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his Lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them" (John 13:16-17).

Jesus was specifically addressing feet washing, which symbolizes humbling ourselves to serve others. We should approach it with compassion, and it should be an honor to serve. The Apostle Paul says, “Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others" (Philippians 2:3-4).

God didn't give us gifts to boast about how He uses us, but rather He wants us to be humble. One way to do that is by considering others better than ourselves and prioritizing their interests and needs over our own. This is how God intended the Church to function. We are a community of believers who stand together, encouraging one another to fulfill our purposes in life. That is a true wake-up call. As it says in Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” What are your thoughts on this?
