"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say rejoice!" Philippians 4:4

Joy January 16, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

Where is the easiest place to rejoice when things aren't going your way? I've been to ballgames when the home team was losing badly, and some people were still cheering them on! I've watched game shows when someone else won the prize, and the loser stood there clapping, knowing they were disappointed. That's good sportsmanship, but there's no joy in doing that. Most people do that because they're aware of the cameras in the studio on them! No one wants to lose or appear to be a sore loser!

When you come to the House of God, it's easy to rejoice regardless of the circumstances you may be facing! I had never attended a Church Service where the anointing was flowing and left the Sanctuary feeling worse than before I arrived! It's the anointing that "destroys yokes and removes the burdens" that life can bring. Isaiah 10:27. There's hope for deliverance no matter where you are, but there is something special about being amongst other believers.

Even when watching your favorite team on television at home. Suppose your team made a remarkable comeback and won a game that it appeared was lost, and you were there by yourself getting the victory. No one to high-five or celebrate the victory with. You say we won, but who's really we? In the church, you're praying together, praising and picturing the victory in your mind's together. That's hope, and it only occurs because of the joy that comes from Worshipping the Lord! It jumps start's us to "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say rejoice!" Philippians 4:4. What are your thoughts?
