In today's Daily Devotional, we will be exploring the power of the greatest name, Jesus Christ. Have you ever found yourself using someone else's name in the hopes of gaining favor with someone? Perhaps in a business venture or when applying to a place of business, you knew that relying solely on your resume would not take you very far. This practice is commonly known as name-dropping, and while it may occasionally yield positive results, there are times when simply name-dropping will not lead you anywhere significant.

The chances of finding favor with a person or organization are more likely when there is a genuine relationship with the person whose name you mention. However, there is one name that surpasses all others. The Bible states, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

The name of Confucius, the Chinese philosopher, cannot bring you salvation. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, cannot grant you everlasting life. Buddha, whose name signifies awakening and who was a philosopher advocating enlightenment, cannot save you. Jesus Himself declared, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again" (John 3:7).

Indeed, only the name of Jesus can bring salvation, enabling our souls to be redeemed and meet the qualifications for heaven. It is one thing to casually drop someone's name without having a genuine relationship with them, especially someone of high status. However, it is an entirely different matter to have a true and meaningful relationship with that person. The more time we spend with someone we admire, the more we tend to emulate them.

Frequently, we find ourselves walking, talking, and behaving similarly to those we deeply love and respect. The Apostle Paul exemplified this kind of love for Jesus Christ when he expressed his desire to know Him, experience the power of His resurrection, and share in His sufferings, even being conformed to His death (Philippians 3:10). This demonstrates the depth of Paul's relationship with Jesus and his aspiration to become more like Him. What are your thoughts?
