The Words That We Speak Are Important

We can speak life or death into anybody's life.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

“Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: But a good word maketh it glad.” Proverbs 12:25

Do you realize how important the words that we speak are? We can speak life or death into any situation. We can speak life or death into anybody's life. Our words can either put a fire out in life, or add gasoline to it. The reason being is because the Bible says that "Death and life are in the power of the tongue." Proverbs 18:21. Yes words are powerful! If a person is lying in the hospital and you go to visit them; what you say to them is vital. The worse thing you can do is tell them: you look bad, or girl you look so dark! Here's another one: You're looking at the monitor and advising them that their heart rate is high. Here are more: Man, your blood pressure is sky high! They’re saying that your condition is actually getting worse than better. You know my aunt had the same diagnosis and she died shortly afterwards! With friends like this, who needs enemies?

The wise writer king Solomon says “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: But a good word maketh it glad.” Proverbs 12:25. When visiting someone who is sick or discouraged it’s our reasonable service to encourage them with the good news of God’s Word. The Gospel is Good News! We should always be conscious of what we are saying in any given situation. We should always look to build others up, and not tear them down. As Believers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we always want our words to be acceptable to Him. What's acceptable? Our words should always fall in line with His Word, praise God! ”Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14. What are your thoughts?
