The Temptation to Feel Unappreciated

It is important to prioritize pleasing the Lord above all else.

For the entire month of August Powerzone ministries will be diving deep into the topic of temptation. What exactly is temptation? We'll be exploring what it means and what the Bible has to say about it all Month long!

As stated in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;"

The temptation to feel unappreciated or unrecognized for one's efforts is a common experience in this world. It can be particularly challenging in relationships, such as in marriages. Husbands may feel unappreciated when their wives fail to affirm them, especially if they are the primary breadwinners. On the other hand, wives who are homemakers may also feel undervalued, as their work in maintaining the household is often overlooked. Regardless of whether a wife is employed outside the home or not, husbands must show love and appreciation towards their wives. As stated in Ephesians 5:25, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" Yes, we men are to love our wives in a way even unto the point of dying for them. If we do not love that way we are not ready for marriage!

For those who are single, it is important to prioritize pleasing the Lord above all else. As the Apostle Paul states in 1 Corinthians 7:32, "But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord." This means that while you are single, your focus should be on seeking to please the Lord in all aspects of your life.

In life, it is important to not only focus on our labor and sacrifices but also to recognize and appreciate the contributions and efforts of others. It is a good practice to be conscious of what others may be doing for our betterment and, above all, for the Lord's work. As we continue this discussion tomorrow, let us remember the wisdom found in Proverbs 3:27, which states, "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it." What are your thoughts?
