It is imperative to study the one thing that does not change in this world.

In our previous Daily devotional, we discussed the temptation to neglect prayer. Today, we will delve into the topic of the temptation to cease laboring in the Word of God. Have you ever experienced the sudden departure of someone from your life? Perhaps there were individuals who you trusted with your life in a sense, but when the road got rocky they hit the road. You believed that your relationship with these people would never dissolve and that they would never betray you. I have personally experienced this in my own life and have shared with many what I am about to share with you.

In life, we encounter different types of relationships. Some people come into our lives for a specific season, others for a particular reason, and a few rare individuals remain with us for a lifetime. It can be disheartening when the relationships we believed would always stay the same change, as people themselves change over time. Circumstances and the influence of others can alter their perspectives, leading them to move on. However, we should not be discouraged. The one constant in this ever-changing world is the Word of God. Therefore, it is imperative to study the one thing that does not change in this world. The Word is divine wisdom from above, and it illuminates the dark paths we encounter through trials, tribulations, and troubles in life. As the Bible states in Psalms 119:105, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

The Word of God instructs us to love even our enemies and to pray for them. Jesus teaches us in Matthew 5:44 to "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you". Additionally, we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to understand and apply the teachings of the Word. Jesus says in John 14:26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." Faith is what keeps hope alive and, as stated in Romans 10:17, "faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

While we are called to love everyone, our ultimate reliance should be on Jesus, who is the living Word. Jesus declares in Matthew 24:35 that "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away." Amen! What are your thoughts?
