The LORD is the Believers' Light

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD.

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." (Psalm 27:1-2)

In today's Daily devotional, we will be continuing our discussion on the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and the power that He gives to believers. Throughout God's Word, we read about prophets and apostles whom the Lord used as conduits of healing that come directly from Him. The psalmist of Israel and the great King David says, "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." (Psalm 27:1-2)

The LORD is the believers' light because we can see our way in the darkest of circumstances that we may face. The darkest place in this world is a coal mine. People who are on assignment to operate in that environment wear a hard hat with a small light that gives them enough light to see the path they walk, step by step.

The coal mine is not completely illuminated, so you have to trust the light on your head that gives you just enough visibility to prevent stumbling or falling. The psalmist of Israel and the great King David says, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and he delights in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the LORD upholds him with His hand." (Psalm 37:23-24)

That only occurs because the righteous person is relying on the Lord's guidance and operating according to God's will for their life. A believer is anointed by God, and there is no reason to operate in fear regardless of the adversity they may face. "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear because fear has torment. He who fears is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18). What are your thoughts?
