The Living Word Went to the Written Word

The Word has to be there in the heart

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5

The beginning of this week has brought a very broad explanation as to the question posed about the most important reason why we should know the Word of God. We discovered that when Jesus was in the wilderness and faced temptation from the devil; He went to the Word Himself. Yes, the Living Word went to the written Word and the devil had to tempt Jesus in a different area of life shortly afterwards. In the same way, when we are tempted to make a bad decision of choice we should immediately go to the Word as Jesus did! The Bible says “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11.

The key to this passage is that the Word has to be there in the heart, and only hearing, reading, and studying it can make that possible with man. The Bible says that Jesus was a man and yet He was still God, but God in the flesh. “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” I Timothy 2:5. Yes when he was tempted to turn the stones into bread he could, but He didn’t cheat and never did!

The Bible says that after tempting Jesus flesh the devil then tried Him by tempting Him by quoting the Word out of context to the Living Word Himself. “Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: And in their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.” He actually tried to get Jesus to get out of God the Father’s perfect will. He would have to cheat by using His divine ability. Jesus was and is God in the flesh and He is the Word! “Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” Matthew 4:7. What are your thoughts?
