Today would be the birthday of my grandmother who technically speaking was my grand aunt Mable. She is the one who raised my mother because my natural grandmother was too young to handle the responsibility of raising children at that time. The name Mable actually means: lovable or dear. My mother was and so was the woman my grand aunt who she has named after. She bought me my very first car and to this day I feel indebted to her. That car bought me a lot of joy, but every now and then it needed to be repaired. Does it bother you when you’re driving your vehicle and then a service light comes on? You want to fix it yourself, but you realize that you’re going to have to have it diagnosed by an expert in that area where the problem lies. The Bible says “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we might obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need.” Hebrews 4:16.
If you have an Apple smartphone; then you are familiar with Siri. Siri has a pleasant small voice, but even she has been known to give us wrong information The red indicator light is the still small voice of the Holy Spirit letting us know that there’s something wrong. Just like when you are operating your vehicle without using a seatbelt; initially it will give off a consistent warning sound, but that’s only temporary because if you procrastinate too long the warning sound will stop. Sometimes the problem is so bad that you have no other choice but to take it to the diagnostic shop. The instrument that the mechanic uses to confirm his findings is called an OBD scanner which stands for Onboard diagnostic. If you have the Holy Spirit He is on Board and can internally diagnose your problems. I am indebted to my grandmother Mable, but no one is as lovable and dear as the Lord. Ultimately it is the Lord that I owe a debt and He said to love everyone and sometimes it’s not that easy. Only the Holy Spirit can give us this kind of love. “The Bible says” Owe no man anything but to live one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” Romans 13:8.
