In today's daily devotional, we will be discussing the greatest of all, Jesus Christ! He is the reason why everyone who has lived in this world has the opportunity to have everlasting life. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Because a man (Adam) fell from grace in the Garden, it was going to take a man to restore our relationship back to the Father.

It would take a blood sacrifice, and it had to be from someone who was unblemished by sin. In the Old Dispensation, people were allowed to bring animal sacrifices such as sheep, bulls, or goats, which had to be at least one year old and without any blemishes. These animals had to be considered clean for the sacrifice. They were used for different purposes, including reconciliation with the Lord, sacrifices for general sin, and sacrifices for unintentional sin. However, now under grace, hallelujah, the Bible says, “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14).

The blood symbolizes life, and that is why animal blood was used. No one on this earth was good enough for their blood to be used and sprinkled on the altar, as was the system used in the rituals at that time. The wise writer says, “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not” (Ecclesiastes 7:20).

However, there was one who came here over two thousand years ago and was given a body of flesh to become a man and live a perfect life on earth. His name is Jesus Christ. "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth" (John 1:14). What are your thoughts?
