The Everlasting Father, Jesus Christ

Not only will He always be there for you, but He will also provide unwavering support.

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5).

In today's daily devotional, we will continue discussing the power of the greatest name. Yesterday, we began our discussion on the prophesied attributes of Jesus Christ as stated by the evangelical prophet Isaiah. We ended the daily devotional by talking about Jesus Christ being referred to as "The everlasting father." David understood that his earthly father could not always be there for him, but Jesus will always be there! He is called "The Prince of Peace" because he removes all confusion, chaos, and conflict, and brings peace into the life of the believer.

Most people are familiar with the story of David and Goliath. However, the event we will focus on today occurred before the confrontation with David's elder brother Eliab. It happened when David was sent to bring food to his brothers who were on the battleground. David inquired about the reward for the man who would kill Goliath the Philistine. When the Prophet Samuel came to Jesse's house (the earthly father of David), he requested to see all of Jesse's sons. Jesse then summoned all of his sons, from the oldest to the youngest, to come and see the Prophet as he had requested.

The problem with that was that Jesse had omitted David and didn't even recognize his existence until the Prophet put Jesse on the spot. The Bible states, "And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep" (I Samuel 16:11). Perhaps you have also experienced being overlooked or forgotten by the people you depended on the most for support. Maybe you have felt invisible at times, even by the very person who raised you or was supposed to be there for you.

The Everlasting Father, Jesus Christ, is exactly that. Not only will He always be there for you, but He will also provide unwavering support, even during the most challenging times. As it is written, "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee" (Hebrews 13:5). What are your thoughts?
