"For God is not the author of confusion; but a God of peace in all of the churches of the saints” (I Corinthians 14:33).

Yesterday, we talked about moments when we should be fearful, and in our Daily devotional discussion today, we will explore the detrimental impact of dishonesty. Lying is a quality that goes against God's very essence, as He completely disapproves of it. Countless friendships have crumbled under the weight of deceit, and numerous relationships, particularly marriages, have been shattered due to dishonesty. The Bible says ”They speak vanity everyone with his neighbor: With flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak” (Psalms 12:2). The Psalmist highlights the perpetual cycle of deception, where individuals deceive and manipulate others with flattery.

In a recent devotional, I defined flattery as insincere praise to gain favor with a person. What you're saying to a person to dupe them into trusting you are tools from the enemy. The wise writer King Solomon says, "A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; And a flattering mouth worketh ruin" (Proverbs 26:28). When we are not honest with one another, a seed is sown that will eventually destroy relationships. Lying will eventually cause conflict, confusion, and chaos, and God is certainly not the author of confusion!

If you get to the root of just about any kind of controversy, a lie is in the midst of it! "For God is not the author of confusion; but a God of peace in all of the churches of the saints” (I Corinthians 14:33). The greatest lie ever told is that Jesus Christ did not die for all of mankind. If you are living a life with Jesus Christ as Lord, there is hope. But suppose that you continue life without knowing the Lord? There is no hope! I would not take that chance because the truth is that He lives today! Receive Him today while you have a chance, praise God! Don't believe a lie! "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). What are your thoughts?
