“ How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” John 5:44

Honor: October 21, 2022, By Dr. George Bing

We have a very important election in our State and other States as well throughout the entire Country in less than 3 weeks from now. It's difficult to give honor to someone you don't like, and it can be uncomfortable. But it is imperative to give honor to all to whom honor is due! “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.” I Thessalonians 5:14.

A few years ago during a Presidential debate, I observed the candidates not even greeting one another before the debate and sometimes afterward as well. Rodney King had a valid point when he asked “Can't we all get along? If the President of the United States walked into our Churches, we would automatically stand up. If our Governor were to walk into a venue that we were attending, everyone would come to their feet.

Their decorum may not be in line with what we personally expect of a Government Official, but we are to honor them. Even if their character does not reflect that of someone who holds a Public Office; we are to honor them. Even if we disagree with their position on certain policies; we still are to respectfully honor them because it’s the position that we are honoring.

You do not have to like the Public Servants, but you are still supposed to honor them. As long as they remain in that position we are to honor them. We should give honor to all to whom honor is due; even if we don't agree with them!” How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 5:44. What are your thoughts?
