Salvation Takes Us Down the Highway of Life

We need to pay attention and prayerfully be prepared

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

The Bible says “Let thine eyes look right on, And let thine eyelids look straight before thee” Proverbs 4:25

Let’s return back to the long distance trip we were traveling on recently. We are heading North on 95 from Miami to New York. One thing that I truly enjoy is traveling on vacation. Vacations are a priority in my life. When you begin traveling on your vacation; it's taboo to even mention how far away you are from your destination. No one in their right mind talks about that. The Bible says “Let thine eyes look right on, And let thine eyelids look straight before thee” Proverbs 4:25.

We need to pay attention and prayerfully be prepared for anything that potentially can be a distraction in preventing us from reaching our destination. If you're the driver, before you begin traveling; you need a different mindset. Your focus now is staying alert as you're traveling down the highway towards your destination. During the trip you usually set goals along the way. An example of this would be: reaching the Georgia State line in five hours. This is a goal, but it's not your objective on this trip! The wise writer King Solomon says “Ponder the path of thy feet, And let all thy ways be established.” Proverbs 4:26.

As you're approaching New York you will have other goals in mind to reach before you arrive to New York. You're looking to reach Florence South Carolina, and the closer you get to it, the more frequently you'll see signs. At first it may be a little discouraging to see that you're 164 miles away. But as you get closer, the signs (The Word) is more encouraging to you. Salvation takes us down the highway of life. We have goals in life which are things that the Lord wants us to reach, but our main objective is to reach Heaven praise God! “Order my steps in thy Word: And let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” Psalms 119:133. What are your thoughts?
