"My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto the Lord." Psalms 73:21

Joy January 26, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

Some people have a passion for sports. If there's anything that you can throw, bounce, hit, or kick; I'm in! Oh, and I enjoy watching it too. Many people can watch movies all day. We call them movie buffs. Let's not forget a good book; some people will not answer their phones if they have a good mystery book in their hands. They won't put it down! They’re called bookworms! I find it hard to believe, but some people don't care about sports! You may like a good movie, but some people don't care for them either. A good book is great for an avid reader, but some people wouldn't care if they stopped printing them.

There is one thing in the world for sure that everyone in the world loves, and that’s music. Music is a universal language, and everyone enjoys some kind of music! You won't find anybody who can hear, that doesn't like to listen to it. As you're listening to a song, and you begin to sing it, it can change your mood. A sad song will sadden you. "Cause I'm Happy," will pick you up and put dancing in your feet! What about songs from Zion? May it be Spiritual or contemporary Gospel songs. That's better than the old bounty commercial; remember Josephine "It's the quicker picker-upper!" The Bible says “Praise ye the LORD, Praise God in His sanctuary: Praise Him in the firmament of His Power. Praise Him according to His excellent greatness, “Psalms 150:1-2.

The Psalmist here King David goes on in this Psalm to list different instruments that we can lift the Lord in with music! Nothing should give you more joy than knowing that you've been redeemed. That's why if you've been redeemed, you rejoice when you sing unto the Lord! He's worthy praise, God! "My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto the Lord." Psalms 73:21. What are your thoughts?
