Most of us remember the well-known Ford white Bronco chase involving OJ Simpson who was fleeing from law enforcement as he was going to be arrested and charged with murder. This occurred twenty-nine years ago to this very day and it received broad coverage and media attention. Have you ever been asked your opinion about something knowing that your opinion would not be received well? Here are some examples of that. Do you think that O J Simpson murdered Ron Goldman and his former wife Nicole Brown Simpson? The country was sadly divided over their opinions about this and it was nearly one year later before OJ Simpson was acquitted.
You and I can rest assured that if our opinion about anything is not Biblically based; it does not hold any weight. So what is the truth in the matter of the people vs. OJ Simpson in the case of the murder of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson? In any case or accusation brought to the powers that be who are the responsible decision-makers; there are three paths to choose from. There is the testimony of the person perhaps who was victimized, but in this case, the result was death, and so the parties involved cannot speak for themselves. There is the testimony of the person who is accused of committing the crime, and then there is one more path to choose from. It’s been said that “and then there’s the truth.” I will use a part of that statement and give a credible opinion about that statement.
The third path is the truth, but the truth is a combination of what is more than likely what the parties involved have already stated in their testimonies. The Bible says “In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.” II Corinthians 13:1. A testimony is “a solemn declaration usually made orally by a witness under oath” in response to being questioned by someone and that’s usually a Judge, attorney, or law enforcement officer. Jesus says “We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen” John 3:11. Everyone has an opinion but only God in Heaven knows the Truth! “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Beholding the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3. What are your thoughts?
