National Day of Prayer

It is Vital That We Pray According to the Instructions of Christ

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

Jesus Himself says “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 10:33

Today is the National Day of Prayer as every first Thursday of the Month of May is. It is an annual observance held every year that was designed to bring people of diverse faiths together to pray. It’s important to respect people’s beliefs, but as Believers we should always keep in mind what the Holy Bible reads. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the life; no one cometh to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. All the demographics here in the United States are invited to take part in this special occasion, but it is vital that we pray according to the instructions of Christ. You hear people including some spiritual leaders operating in fear of using the Lord Jesus Christ name in the prayer. When we fail to do that we are denying our Lord as if we are ashamed of letting our friends and familiar acquaintances that we worship Him. Jesus Himself says “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 10:33.

In other words, when you go to pray and chose to not use Jesus name; your prayer is going nowhere! We can use the most swelling words and speak eloquently as we are attempting to impress people, but the Lord is not impressed at all. As a matter of fact I venture to say that there is no power in ANY prayer that does not acknowledge God’s Preeminent Son Jesus Christ! If the Living Word says in the written Word that He is the only way to the Father; I believe it as all Believers should, and that settles it! Jesus became a man and while He was here in the flesh that is what He said for us to do! “And The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14. Amen! What are your thoughts?
