Celebrate the Birth of Jesus!

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

The Bible says, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21).

In today's Daily devotional, we will be giving homage to the greatest name, Jesus Christ, as we celebrate Christmas! Yes, I am very aware of the fact that December 25 is not the actual day that our Lord Jesus Christ was born. But on this day, in observance of the Christ child, we are celebrating His birth! The Bible says, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21).

The name Jesus means the Lord is salvation. This is what the Lord Jesus Christ brought to the world. He is the only one who is able to do that because He is the only person to have walked the earth without sin. His life was also an example for us to emulate and to please the Father with our actions as well. The Apostle Peter says, "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps: who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth" (1 Peter 2:21-22).

We too are called to live a righteous life, and it is only by the Lord Jesus Christ's example that we have a perfect model of what we all need to strive for. Everyone born in this world was born with an Adamic nature. The sweet psalmist and great king of Israel, David, says, "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity and did my mother conceive me." That is a nature prone to sin, and that's why every parent is tasked to train their children in the way they should grow up. The wise writer, King Solomon, says, "Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6).

Children will lie, possibly steal, mistreat other children, and be ill-mannered until they are taught the right way to go. Today, we celebrate the birth of the Christ child, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who took the burden of the sins of the world, past, present, and future, and died in our place. “For He hath made to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (II Corinthians 5:21).
