Memorial Day

Celebrating the military soldiers who lost their lives protecting our freedoms here in the United States

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

The Bible says “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.” Romans 5:6-7.

Today is a special day in our Country set aside to honor a special group of people. This day is known as Memorial Day in observance of the military soldiers who lost their lives protecting our freedoms here in the United States. These special people knew when they enlisted into the armed forces that they were literally risking their lives for so many others. Each time that we are allowed to thank any veteran for their Service as well; it should be customary to take advantage of it, and to do so. Everyone should give them honor and thank them while they are able to receive the gratitude that each of us should have for their labor and great sacrifice. In the same way there is only one person that had the capability of being an acceptable sacrifice to God the Father to pay the penalty for our sins.

The Bible says “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.” Romans 5:6-7. The Apostle Paul is saying that Jesus Christ was a more than a good soldier; as He was drafted with the knowledge that it was by divine appointment for Him to die. Everyone drafted knows there’s a possibility that they may die in the line of duty, but Jesus knew that He was drafted by God the Father specifically to die. The Apostle adds that Jesus died for people that He knew were relatively good, but He also died for people that would commit evil in the world.

Yes, because of the Word (Jesus Christ the Living Word which is inerrant as the written Word is as well) was willing to die for us all when most people would not dare die for good people who they love. We cannot honor our Lord and Savior enough for His ultimate sacrifice for the world! When we remember the soldiered who laid down their lives for us which we absolutely should always do; never forget the Living Word who voluntarily laid His life down for all mankind; knowing that because of His great sacrifice; that we might gain everlasting life! “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again! Yes, the Word is still alive! John 10”17. What are your thoughts?
