“But His Word was in mine heart like fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.” Jeremiah 20:9

Blessed November 23, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

Have you ever been so angry with someone, that you felt a need to take matters into your own hands? Then there are times when God seems to be taking too long to avenge your adversary. Let me take matters into my own hands! You have the free will to choose how the situation should be handled. Are you going to get even with a person; or let God do it?” Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Romans. 12:19.

It is human nature to want to get even with someone who has hurt you or someone you love. The Bible says we are to be meek. Meek is not weak, it is controlled strength! In other words, you have the ability to get even with someone and you choose not to. You have a mouth on you that years ago was rated X. You use to cuss like a sailor, but haven't been on the water in uniform in years. God has done such a work in you that profane language doesn't even come out of your mouth anymore. You use to wail on anybody showing disrespect to you or your family, and now you are meek in spirit. It's like heaping coals of fire upon their heads.

The old adage” kill them with kindness” is certainly true to a certain extent. It will melt a cold heart when you heap coals of the fire of God’s holy Word of kindness on an enemy. The Prophet Jeremiah said, “But His Word was in mine heart like fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.” Jeremiah 20:9. No one can repay stubborn people like Jesus can. “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5. What are your thoughts?
