"Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;" 1 Corinthians 13:5

Love December 27, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

Today's devotional is dedicated to a very special friend of mine. How many people know what it is to Love somebody? I have defined Love as giving of oneself for another one's benefit, even at your own expense. When you Love someone, at some point in life you're going to have to sacrifice something for that person. The greater the Love, the greater the sacrifice! Philippians 2:3. During one of the darkest moments in my life, I was in need of someone to stand in the gap for me. A Sister in Christ sat in the middle of her kitchen for three days, as she consecrated herself and stayed in prayer for me. Not eating, denying her flesh for a friend. A brother in Christ that she believed in, and whose heart she knew was broken. Oh yes, her husband stood with her as well!

She didn't do it to get people to say that she was super spiritual. If it were up to her, no one would've known that she was doing it. If you have ever been betrayed and deeply wounded by someone, and someone else's prayers breathed life into you again; you can identify with this Love. Love " seeketh not her own." It doesn't look like a thank you. Someone else's welfare is a primary concern. It truly values someone else's well-being at that crucial point in time, more than themselves. It may never be repaid and sometimes it can't! This is dedicated to my Sister in Heaven, Annette Savice. A Sister that truly is a big bundle of Love that lives in the hearts of so many that had the privilege of knowing her. "Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;" 1 Corinthians 13:5 What are your thoughts?
