Have you ever tried to reach someone who you knew was heading in the wrong direction? Have you ever been disappointed or let down by someone you didn't expect would ever hurt you? Have you been lied to by someone you trusted? Has someone who you believed in misused you? What about justifying someone's wrong because you had them on a pedestal, and you found out later that they were a fraud? It could’ve been a teacher, principal, leader, aunt, uncle, or even a parent that told you that you would never amount to anything. These are things that contaminate your faith. Disappointments in life can do that! That's fear! “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” I John 4:18.
Today is inauguration day and I’m not trying to encourage anyone not satisfied with who was elected to an office to trust the Government official. I am encouraging you to trust God who is sovereign in this world. The Lord allowed the political figure to be elected and the Bible says “the powers that be are ordained by God.” Romans 13:1. You are not operating in fear because you are not trusting flesh and blood but your faith is in the Lord! Hallelujah! Now there's childlike faith. The kind of faith that no matter what going on in life; you have joy in believing that God is taking care of it all. Disappointments are not a part of the equation! When your faith is totally in Jesus Christ; you’re operating in childlike faith. That's how you can contain everlasting joy because your hope is not in man, and your joy comes from knowing that Jesus Christ has it all in control! “Rejoice evermore” I Thessalonians 5:16.
