“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them,” Matthew 7:20

Joy January 17, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

Have you ever been around people who are always argumentative? If someone says or does something that they don't agree with; they're ready to fight! People who act like this more than likely have a lot of unresolved anger on the inside! Joy can't exist where there's anger. It's the enemy’s job to dupe people into believing that this is the way of life, and just hold on to that anger. Conflicting with others is the norm. Some people have been taught this and it was all that was demonstrated before them. Expressing anger without resolution is acceptable behavior. Being a person that is a confusion maker should be accepted? Being a person with character issues is the status quo to them. Drama, drama, and more drama! Maya Angelou said it best: “If a person shows you who they are, believe them!"

The Scripture makes it even clearer “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them,” Matthew 7:20. It’s supposed to be an apple tree but all you see are lemons. Regardless of a corrupt root in a person’s life, we must forgive them of any offense and move forward. Truth be told the Bible says” If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me,” Psalms 66:18.

How can anyone in this world not have God hear their prayers and have joy? It is impossible because the Lord is the source of joy! Unforgiveness stagnates your joy! Don’t you want to experience His joy? There is joy when you promote peace. It is a joy to be a vessel that God uses to restore broken relationships. It's a joy to advise others facing chaotic situations, that their objective in settling matters; should always be a peaceful resolution. Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: But to counsellors of peace is joy.” Proverbs 12:20. The latter has real joy. What are your thoughts?
