Jesus Christ the Healer

Everyone has been sick, or at least, you know someone who has experienced sickness in the body.

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

The Bible says, "If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee" (Exodus 15:26).

In today's Daily Devotional, we will be discussing the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and His power to heal. Everyone has been sick, or at least, you know someone who has experienced sickness in the body. We read about many people in the Bible who were sick and received healing. Believe it or not, it was not the prophet whom you read about that healed the person. It was not the preacher who laid hands on you or a loved one, and they recovered shortly afterward. It was not your grandmother's remedy that, after drinking it, you or a loved one were doing better.

People and remedies that our parents, grandparents, or whoever the Lord used were simply conduits for God to exhibit His power through.

God is establishing here His power and authority alone to heal. There are diverse methods that Jesus Christ chooses to heal people throughout Scripture. One of the ways that the Lord chose to heal is by simply speaking the Word. A Roman military captain came to Jesus because his servant was "sick to the point of death." Knowing that Jesus had the power to heal the Centurion's servant, he also expressed with a humble disposition that he did not feel worthy of the Lord coming under his roof. But would that be enough for healing to be received?

Friends of the captain came to Jesus delivering a message, saying, "Master, don't come to me in person, for I am not good enough for you to enter my home. I'm not enough to even come out to meet you. But if you would just speak the Word of healing from right where you are, I know that my servant will be healed" (Luke 7:6-7). What are your thoughts?
