Jesus Christ, and the Power He Gives to Believers to Witness

This is the primary assignment given to all believers in Christ.

This December, we're embarking on a special spiritual journey centered around the true reason for the season – our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ! Join us as we delve into daily devotionals dedicated to exploring the life, teachings, and profound love of Jesus.

"Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19).

In today's daily devotional, we will continue discussing the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and the power that He gives to believers. Yesterday, we began exploring the topic of the power that Jesus Christ possesses and imparts to those who become believers in Him. I emphasized the fact that when you are born again, the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ now resides within you. I used the metaphor of a woman who, after being intimate with her husband, shows signs of change and experiences a shift in her appetite due to the new life growing inside her.

Spiritually, it is similar because the Holy Spirit within believers craves God's Word, and just like an embryo, as the Holy Spirit develops through receiving the Word (faith), it becomes stronger. As a new believer, the more you receive and apply the Word, the stronger you will become as a Christian. This is especially true when it comes to being a witness for Christ. Jesus Himself said, ”But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

This is the primary assignment given to all believers in Christ. It is not just preaching or teaching, but believe it or not, all believers have been empowered by our Lord Jesus Christ to be witnesses of the gospel to the world. He has also equipped us with the power to overcome any obstacles or adverse circumstances that the enemy may try to tempt us with. Do you realize that you have the Greater One inside you? Hallelujah! "Behold, I give unto you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19). What are your thoughts?
