"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17).

In today's daily devotional, we will be discussing the greatest name, Jesus Christ, and the power that He gives to believers. Everyone who has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior has the Holy Spirit, the third person in the Trinity, living inside of them. The Holy Spirit, like any living being, needs to be nourished to be active. What the Holy Spirit feeds off of is the Word of God.

In the natural, a newborn baby desires milk at first because that is all they can digest. Similarly, this is why novice Christian believers desire the sincere milk of the gospel because that is all they can digest initially. The Apostle Peter says, ”Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” (I Peter 2:1-2).

When a woman has been intimate with her husband and his seed has been placed in her, the embryo enters the development stage. During pregnancy, the wife's taste buds may change, and she may desire food that she wasn't accustomed to enjoying before this new life took residence in her. Similarly, because the Lord's Spirit now resides inside believers, they may develop a craving for different spiritual nourishment that they may not have craved before.

This spiritual food refers to the Word of God. As a believer, the more you receive and apply the Word, the stronger your faith will become, and you will develop into a more powerful and effective witness. We will delve deeper into this topic tomorrow, Lord willing. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17). What are your thoughts?
