In Whatsoever State You are in Be Content!

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of February, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on the topic of #HOPE. The Bible says "hope deferred maketh the heart sick." What does that mean? The world oftentimes speaks of hope as wishful thinking, is this the same hope the bible teaches? Stay connected to learn more.

"The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish." Proverbs 10:28

Hope February 25, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

So many people are not content with their marital status. Adolescents want to be old enough to date. Teenagers at the appropriate age want an exclusive relationship. Single young men and women are bored being without a spouse, and some married people live like they're single! The Apostle Paul said: "for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Philippians 4:11. Marriage is the most wonderful institution that God ever created on earth; when it's with the right person! If it's with the wrong person, it can be your worst nightmare. It's a Pastor's responsibility to encourage couples who are considering marriage to get pre-marital counseling to confirm that they're truly hand-picked by God for each other! The most important compatible trait is being equally yoked. “Be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness." 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Nancy Leigh DeMoss Wolgemuth is a renowned talk show host on a Christian network. She got married in her later years and was being interviewed, and she began the session by describing her husband as "a wonderful amazing man." She wasn't looking for a man, but this man found her and swept her off of her feet. She was very content with being single, but her love for this man caused her to be willing to change her thinking. Now she would no longer think of herself first, but after God, her husband was her primary concern. The amazing thing about this story is that she was 57 years old, and had never married before! She had hope in her heart that if it ever happened, it would be in a sense a fairytale. She waited on the Lord, and she's happy as a Lark! God is no respecter of persons! "The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish." Proverbs 10:28. What are your thoughts?
