“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18

Love December 7, 2022 By Dr. George Bing

Today marks the 81st anniversary of the unexpected bombing of Pearl Harbor. We all have experienced our own unexpected tragedies that caused us pain. No one wants to experience being hurt, but in this world it is imminent. We live in an imperfect world amongst imperfect people. I truly believe that most people don't intend on hurting you, but this is a falling world, and unfortunately, you're going to experience it.

The truth be told is that hurting people hurt people. Even some people who have experienced abuse will eventually find themselves abusing others. Only the Love of Christ on the inside can guarantee that the abuse suffered by you will not turn you into an abuser. “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not.” Ecclesiastes 7:20.

Because people have been hurt by others, they tend to put up defense mechanisms to protect themselves from being hurt again. It can be difficult to trust anyone after experiencing your trust being violated. When you put your trust totally in God, He won't let you down. If we Love God perfectly, there's no fear in Love, or to Love. We should not be operating in fear because of past hurts. Only God can perfect our Love and we will Love others as He has Loved us. “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18. What are your thoughts?
