If the earth is the Lord's and everything in it belongs to him why should I tithe?

It’s no hidden mystery who is the one that we honor above anything and anyone else, and that's the Lord. One of the ways that we can honor Him is with our giving. God advises us through the wise writer Solomon to" Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruit of all thine increase." Proverbs 3:9. But how do we do that, and what does it mean " with all thine increase?
To honor the Lord with thy substance means to acknowledge that God owns everything and every good gift comes from Him!” Every good and perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. If you rent a home under a lease; the owner of the home has the responsibility of making any repairs needed in the home. You are only required to make repairs on possessions that you claim ownership of.
When you pay your tithes which is the FIRST fruit of your increase; you'll confirm that you believe that " The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein." Psalms 24:1. Everything belongs to the Lord, but everyone doesn't truly acknowledge that. Giving God the Tithe is giving the first ten percent to the Lord inviting Him to work in your finances to spread them beyond measure. Malachi 3:11 says"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruit of your ground."
In other words, God says if anything that I have allowed you to lease, (substance) (because He owns it all) I will not allow the enemy to take it and if there's any harm; I will be responsible for replacing it. Any increase technically is any financial increase that you receive; or supplemental nutrition assistance such as Food stamps; should be tithed. Even if you are unemployed we are supposed to honor the Lord with the Tithe!” Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10. What are your thoughts?
