How Can I Offer Sacrifices of Joy?

If you press, and He'll bless!

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

Start this new year off right by exploring the word of God. For the entire month of January, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on the topic of #JOY. Biblical joy comes from the Lord. The Bible says "the Joy of the Lord is my strength", so how do you maintain your joy in a fallen world? Stay connected to learn more.

"Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25.

Joy January 13, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

Believe it or not, there are times that I don't necessarily feel like going to the House of God. It's honestly on a rare occasion, but I'm keeping it real. Most of the time, the excitement of going to the Lord's House is there. You have that drive just thinking about His goodness. I never want to be out of place for God to use me. The Bible says "Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:25.

If you are in the House of God, then the Lord can use you there to encourage and empower another person in attendance that is in need. The Scripture says, "It's more blessed to give than to receive" Acts 20:35. The reason is because of the joy that it gives you when you contribute something to another person's life to make life that much better for them. Hallelujah. Everyone's esteem is built up when you are used and vice versa when someone else is used to encourage you, but we need to be in place!

Then there are times that you are burdened with sickness, sorrow, or outright serious concerns. Lord, if I can make it to your House! I don't feel well, but let me just get there. I'm burdened Lord, but let me just get there. I'm so down and discouraged, but if I can just get there! If you press, and He'll bless! Galatians 6:9 says, "and let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." This is after you make it to His House, not yours. This now is your testimony. You have this testimony because you were delighted in getting there, and God heard your cry!

It becomes easy to offer "sacrifices of joy" because you "enquired in His Temple." The devil is looking, but he can't find you because God is now able to hide you! The Lord is your light and your salvation; there's no one to fear. "And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies; therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy" Praise God! In times of trouble especially, be grateful for this joy! Psalms 27:6 What are your thoughts?
