Heaven is Your Destination

Are you heading in the right direction?

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of May, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will explore the most vital subject to discuss, and that is The Word! The Bible says "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword," How does that apply to our daily walk?

Be content with following the signs and knowing that you're heading in the right direction, praise God!

Let's continue on our journey from Miami to New York. This trip is one that you will be traveling on for quite a while. On any long distance trip you will travel through many cities both major and minor. The major cities are the ones that you initially will see a sign posted advising you that you have quite a distance to travel before you arrive there. Now this is not your destination, but as we have said earlier; it's a goal that has been set to achieve during the journey! Once you arrive to that city you have reached your goal, but there are more goals ahead that you need to reach.

Let's say for example that now that you've made it past the state line: you now see a sign posted advising you the distance from there to Florence South Carolina. It can be a little discouraging at first when you think about how far you have come, but you still have a long way to go. It is a reminder of that. Have you ever wondered why you haven't seen a sign advising you about the distance it is to your destination, New York? Just a thought or is it just a thought? If you are a Believer, Heaven is your destination. Your goals (cities you travel through on the way) may be some accomplishments in life.

An example of this is a (good education and graduating) from College. Another goal may be to graduate with honors. Another goal may be to establish yourself in the job market and eventually buy your own home. Becoming the best Husband, father, wife, mother, and the best witness for Christ should be a major goal for us. Those (signs} represent what God's Word says we should do to reach our goals. The reason that we don't see signs for New York in South Carolina on 95 North is that the distance is too far away. It's not necessary to advise us how far we are away from perfection (Heaven) because it will only discourage us along the way. Be content with following the signs and knowing that you're heading in the right direction, praise God! "A word spoken in due season, how good is it." Proverbs 15:23. What are your thoughts?
