He’s a Good, Good Father!

Everyone has a father, but not everyone has a dad.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. 1Chronicles 16:25

For the entire month of June, the Powerzone Ministries' daily devotionals will focus on The Truth. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Does the truth set you free or make you free? Learn the difference by following and reading this month's devotionals.

Psalmist of Israel King David says “The Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11

June 18, 2023 By Dr. George Bing

Everyone has a father, but not everyone has a dad. May it be Superman, Batman, or Spiderman; too many of us dad was that superhero. He was the one we called on when we were in trouble. Our 911 was DAD! I need help! The Bible says “Casting all our cares upon Him for He careth for us.” I Peter 5:7. The realization of the matter is that sometimes in life we tend to place people on a pedestal that only God belongs. Dad may be great but everyone falters, falls, and falls short of perfection in life; because man is a flawed filter. Even in the vehicles we drive in life, the manufacturer places a new filter in the motor after replacing the oil. The oil is what keeps the motor from overheating in life and it is vital to sustain the life of the vehicle. The oil filter removes dirt and any contaminants that can accumulate over time and it keeps the engine (heart of the vehicle) clean.

In the same way, the Holy Spirit filters out any potential dirt or contaminants that can cause the Truth (God’s Word) from being blemished in our engine (Hearts). Adding motor oil without changing the filter can potentially cause a buildup of hard particles that can cause wear and tear in the engine (heart). Man is a flawed filter and what that means is that in our natural sense, we say and do things uncensored. Only the unadulterated Word (The Truth) can filter out sin from our hearts. The great Psalmist of Israel King David says “The Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11.

Some people don't have an earthly dad anymore! Some people have never been fortunate to be raised by their earthly fathers. But there's good news! Our Father in Heaven has allowed many father figures to cross the paths of people that have that void. He is Jehovah Jirah and He never forgets about us. The songwriter said, “He’s a good, good Father." When your father and mother forsake you, then the Lord will take you up!" He will take care of you! Praise God! “Psalms 27:10. What are your thoughts?
